Telehealth therapy ยท New York, Vermont & Florida

Understand where you've been. Choose where you're going.

Therapy for people who are ready for change: discover the patterns that shaped you, challenge what keeps you stuck, and make room for something new.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You can sense someone's mood shift before they say a word, and you're already trying to fix it.
  • Life is finally going well, yet you still can't fully relax.
  • You replay conversations long after they end, wondering what you got wrong.
  • You've been the responsible one for so long, you're not sure what you'd want if no one needed you.

If this sounds like you, here's how we can work on it

Meet your therapist

Hi, I'm Yen.

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with people who are ready to break old cycles. Many of my clients grew up holding roles they never chose: the responsible one, the peacekeeper, the one who made it. Those roles helped you survive. They may also be the reason you feel so tired.

My training began in cognitive neuroscience, studying how the brain learns, adapts, and protects itself under stress. I then spent years in clinical settings working with severe mental illness and complex, layered cases, where there's little room for guesswork. You get a therapist who can hold complexity without being overwhelmed by it, and who can help you untangle it into a clear, organized path forward.

In our work, we look for the root causes of your distress and the patterns that keep your system on high alert. We work on your defenses and survival strategies without asking you to leave behind your identity, culture, or heritage.

I won't only ask how you feel. Together, we'll turn insight into concrete steps you can practice between sessions, so you can see and feel the change in your relationships, your body, and your everyday life.

Areas of Focus

Individual telehealth therapy for adults in New York, Vermont, and Florida, with a focus on three connected areas.

  • Attachment Patterns

    How you connect

The patterns you learned early often follow you into adulthood. They can show up as trouble setting boundaries, overthinking what others need, avoiding conflict, people-pleasing, or anxiety when a relationship feels uncertain. Together, we'll explore where your attachment and communication patterns come from, so you can respond with more choice, clarity, and confidence.

  • Stress & Trauma

How your body learned to protect you

Trauma isn't always a single event. It can feel like being constantly on guard, disconnected from yourself, easily overwhelmed, or unable to relax even when life is going well. We'll explore how your brain and nervous system learned to protect you, and build strategies that fit the life you're living now.

  • Anxiety

How you respond when life feels uncertain

Anxiety can look like racing thoughts, restlessness, perfectionism, avoidance, indecision, or always bracing for what could go wrong. Rather than only managing symptoms, we'll understand what your anxiety is trying to protect you from and build practical ways to feel safer with uncertainty, boundaries, conflict, and everyday life.

My approach

Relational and solution-focused

Understanding why you react is the first step toward reacting differently. Each session combines insight with skills you can actually use.

  1. Understand the why

Clear explanations of how stress and trauma shape the brain and body, so your reactions finally make sense.

  2. Name the pattern

Quick pattern recognition to name the roles, structures, and survival strategies that keep you on high alert.

  3. Practice the change

Concrete skill-building that retrains your nervous system to hold boundaries and move through conflict safely.
